Alien Animations

I am on a large game team with my fellow students. Our team, Crow's Eye Games, is made up of programmers, designers, artists, and a sound designer. Working so closely with fellow hardworking students in a team dynamic has been a valuable learning experience for me. I am one of two animators for the team. I was given this alien to rig and animate.

Please follow the links to see some of my animations.

Lip Sync Animation

We began to study dialogue and the process of animating with it.

I started by breaking down the dialogue and analyzing the diction.

Doing some thumbnails for the character's look and behavior, I found Thelma.

I shot some video reference to help myself feel the character and her movements.

I started blocking out my scene. I didn't worry about matching the lip sync until the end because the poses should be able to tell the story by themselves.

I focused on cleaning up the poses and arcs of the body as well as blocking in the facial animation.

Then I began to clean the facial animation as well.
